Using Taxedo in the Classroom

Enhance Presentations:
Students can use a Tagxedo to separate sections of long presentations.  For instance, if a student is giving a presentation on the life of George Washington, she could use one Tagxedo at the beginning of the section on his childhood, another Tagxedo when she segues into her section on education, and another for the section on presidency.  The student could use shapes that would represent the section--an ax, for instance, at the beginning of the childhood section.  Using words in each Tagxedo from each section of the presentation would prepare the audience and reinforce vocabulary.

Research:
Students could use Tagxedo to represent research on a subject.  For instance, if a student is researching a current event, he could copy and paste text from different sources on the web—news sites, forums, etc.  Then using the options, he could make sure certain words were stressed and others taken out completely.  Using an online image editor, he could edit an image to upload as a custom shape to better represent his subject.

Biographies:
Students could use Tagxedo to illustrate biographies.  Words that represent the subject could be entered into the cloud creator and then manipulated in the options so that certain words were stressed more than others.  Higher-level students could upload an image of the subject to be used as the shape, so that the words would form a portrait of the subject.
